The degenerate logistic indefinite sublinear equation in a bounded and regular domain with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions is considered. The change of variable transforms this problem into the homogeneous Dirichlet problem for the semilinear equation. The Leray-Schauder degree and bifurcation theory are applied to show existence and multiplicity of nonnegative solutions. The singular eigenvalue problem is used for the proof of the uniqueness results.
