This paper deals with a discrete time version of the Romer model of endogenous growth [\textit{P. M. Romer}, J. Political Econ. 94, 1002--1037, (1986)]. The purpose of this work is to propose detailed and simple proofs of the existence of optimal solutions and of a competitive equilibrium.
