The author studies a generalized Zener body. The viscoelasticity model is obtained when in the Zener body the viscous element is replaced by the element which is described by the fractional calculus. Direct and reverse correlations for the problem under consideration are obtained by means of the fractional Green function. Explicit expressions of the relaxation and creep functions are presented via the Mittag-Leffler functions.
