This interesting paper adresses a convergence study of three different generic kinds of domain decomposition methods for the coupling of finite element and boundary element methods. Algorithms presented are: a sequential Schwarz Dirichlet-Neumann scheme, a parallel Schwarz Dirichlet-Neumann scheme and finally a parallel Schwarz Neumann-Neumann scheme. The theoretical convergence analysis shows that a relaxation parameter must be chosen in a suitable interval. Moreover, a special choice of this parameter provides an optimal number of iterations for the iterative algorithms.
