This paper deals with two research projects in the book by \textit{V. L. Kocic} and \textit{G. Ladas} [Global behavior of nonlinear difference equations of higher order with applications. Dordrecht: Kluwer Academic Publishers (1993; Zbl 0787.39001)] on the oscillation and global asymptotic stability of positive solutions. Various sufficient conditions are given.
