Graded Lie algebras of maximal class. V (Q1870914)

Having previously studied a certain type of infinite-dimensional graded Lie algebras of maximal class over fields of odd characteristic [Ann. Sc. Norm. Super. Pisa, Cl. Sci. (4) 29, 269-312 (2000; Zbl 0960.17007)], the authors make a similar investigation of such algebras over fields of characteristic 2. An infinite-dimensional Lie algebra \(M\) is said to be of maximal class if \(M^i\) has codimension \(i\) for all \(i \geqq 2\) and \(\bigcap_i M^i = \{ 0\}\). The algebras studied are generated by an element of weight one and an element of weight two, and their relation to algebras generated by two elements of weight one is shown.
