The break-down of librational invariant curves is studied for a variant of Hénon's symplectic map, that includes also cubic terms. An estimate for the perturbing parameter for which a particular invariant curve disappears is obtained by a numerical method that makes use of fast Lyapunov indicators and frequency analysis. This method does not require the accurate knowledge of the location of periodic orbits of the map, in contrast to the standard Greene's method.
