A new robust adaptive control scheme (called the minimum controller synthesis) for an AC machine is described. The improvements so contributed with respect to conventional algorithms are three-fold: a) The configuration involves two states: speed and acceleration, b) the effects of external disturbances are discarded and c) the error output matrix design is simplified.
