The book is a monograph of a recent research trend, presenting original solutions to the problem of updating models that inherit useful information from their history. Such systems are able to adapt to external or internal changes, renovating both their structure and parameters on-line. The theoretical concepts and principles are illustrated by relevant examples so as to facilitate a deep understanding of the discussed topics. The book is highly recommended to researchers, engineers and software designers working in the fields of artificial intelligence, systems and control.
