\textit{D. Carfi} [ibid. 135, 99-107 (2003; Zbl 1027.46041)] introduced a new scalar product \((u|v)_{L^2}\) in the space of tempered distributions. In this paper, the authors study the basic properties of this product. So they prove its ultralinearity and the ultralinear independence of a Dirac orthonormal family.
