Some Hankel matrices may be obtained from symmetric Toeplitz ones (by J-transformation) while, in its turn, the latter set may be visualised as asymptotics attained by solutions of certain sets of differential equations (for the so called matrix flows with the isospectrality property, known under the alternative names of Flaschka or Cayley). This is the key to the present paper: A clever choice of the initial conditions is shown (and tested) to lead to an efficient solution to some structured inverse eigenvalue problems.
