This paper deals with a numerical simulation of the propagation of electromagnetic waves in a double periodic array of fibres. Thanks to Flochet-Bloch theory, only the unit cell of the periodic material is considered. This leads to an eigenvalue problem which is solved by finite elements. An interesting numerical example is presented.
