Generating functions and companion symmetric linear functionals (Q1878598)

The authors study the relation between generating functions of a set of orthogonal polynomials and of the corresponding symmetric orthogonal polynomials. The results are applied to the Laguerre type and Hermite type polynomials, where a mass point at \(0\) is added to the measures of orthogonality of the classical Laguerre or Hermite polynomials.
