The author determines necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a point \(P\) on the circumcircle of a triangle \(ABC\) such that \(AP=BP+PC\), which for a regular triangle holds for all points of the arc \(BC\). Similarly, he obtains conditions for the existence of a point \(D\) on \(BC\) such that \(AD^2= BD\cdot DC\), which for a right triangle is the foot of the altitude.
