The author studies properties of the set of common fixed points for a one-parameter nonexpansive semigroup in a Banach space with the Opial property. He discusses necessary and sufficient conditions for common fixed points. He also proves some results about convergence to a common fixed point and existence of a nonexpansive retraction to the set of common fixed points. In the last section, examples are given which illustrate the obtained results.
