The author considers the difficulties of classical electrodynamics connected with the interpertation of an integer electrical charge and the energy divergence for the field of point charges. To overcome the difficulties, the requirement of the constance of the space permittivity is abandonned. The expression for the energy of the point-charge field, which becomes finite, is obtained.
