Transitive flows on manifolds. (Q1880519)

The research on transitive flows on manifolds or manifold-like phase spaces has a long tradition. These are flows in which at least one orbit is dense. In this paper the manifolds admiting transitive flows on manifolds are characterized, thus answering, in the authors' words,``fully some questions by \textit{R. A. Smith} and \textit{E. S. Thomas} [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 37, No. 3, 552--568 (1988; Zbl 0634.58025)]''. For other approaches, see for example \textit{J. D. Lawson} and \textit{A.
