The author investigates an \(n\)th-order ordinary differential equation with focal boundary value conditions. He gives some estimation results to deal with the term \(x^{(n-1)}\), which appears in the right-hand side function \(f\). By using the fixed-point index theory, the author obtains the existence of positive and multiple positive solutions.
