An example of a (Bose) quantum kinetic equation is considered. Besides the usual Bose distribution it has also stationary solutions with Dirac masses. The first main result of the paper shows how such a Dirac mass develops depending on the initial conditions, in particular on the large \(k\) behavior of the initial condition and the absence of a condensate at time zero. The second result gives the rate of convergence of solutions towards the regular part of the corresponding steady state.
