A subalgebra of a complex semisimple Lie algebra is called standard if its normalizer is parabolic. The authors set machinery to count the number of conjugacy classes of these subalgebras. Mathematica is used to count this number for all exceptional Lie algebras and all classical Lie algebras of low rank.
