The authors close a gap in a proof of \textit{P. Charissiadis} [Arch. Math. 58, 345--353 (1992; Zbl 0726.47026)]. They consider unbounded operator matrices generating semigroups on products of Banach lattices with order continuous norm. Under certain conditions, they obtain an explicit matrix representation for the generator of the modulus semigroup. The results are generalizations of the well-known matrix case.
