A class of discrete-time uncertain control systems is considered. The authors study the guaranteed identification problem based on a measurable input-output sequence and on a quadratic constraint imposed on the perturbations. Suitable information functions are constructed to determine the solution to this problem in the form of pseudo-ellipsoidal information sets. The authors formulate conditions under which the pseudo-ellipsoidal estimates are transformed into ellipsoidal estimates. Moreover, they describe the critical perturbation levels under which the information sets lose the characteristics inherent for linear systems and exhibit properties typical for nonlinear systems. An illustrative example is also presented.
