The authors present a method for deriving a linear difference equation approximating the nonlinear dynamics for a class of nonlinear pulse systems. Analytic formulas for the resulting difference equation are derived. This linear equation can be used for the local stability analysis of the steady state at constant pulse rates and for the computation of transfer functions near the steady state.
