The drift method has been introduced by the author in [Avtom. Telemekh., No. 2, 56-69 (1988; Zbl 0698.93071)] as a tool for the qualitative study of nonlinear dynamic systems. In the present paper, he extends this method to nonautonomous systems of arbitrary order by introducing the notion of radial drift and derives sufficient conditions for the instability of equilibria.
