Robust Morgan's problem (Q1882539)

The authors consider the robust Morgan problem for a not necessarily square linear time-invariant system with nonlinear uncertain structure, looking for a restricted static state feedback and a precompensator independent from the uncertainties assuring the diagonalization of the transfer function of the closed-loop system. Sufficient conditions are given for the solvability of the problem and a class of static controller matrices is explicitly characterized. Sufficient conditions are also established for the solvability of the robust Morgan problem with simultaneous robust stability, via restricted state feedback. The solution of the problem for the case of pure regular uncertainties is illustrated via a pitch pointing maneuver of a VTQL aircraft in the presence of uncertainties (sensoring errors).
