This paper deals with the linear singularly perturbed boundary value problem for a selfadjoint (1) and also for a non-selfadjoint (2) equation, whose coefficients are piecewise smooth functions. The author constructs uniform in the small parameter convergent methods based on locally exact schemes or on local Green's functions. Numerical experiments, for problem (1) with a classical difference scheme on a nonuniform mesh and for problem (2) with the upwind scheme on a nonuniform mesh, are presented.
