Edited \(4\Theta\)-embeddings of Jacobians (Q1884407)

The paper is a continuation of a previous paper of the author [Adv. Math. 172, 169--205 (2002; Zbl 1065.14035)]. Here he considers the question what linear system of effective divisors arises from the associate projective embedding. The final answer is described in a relatively simple way by a so-called ``edited \(4\Theta\) system'' given by a certain system of theta functions, but the way to this result is rather involved. It mixes modern complex algebraic geometry with Weil's language and very classical theta relations. Apart from the problem considered here, its methods may be useful for many people working in the area.
