The paper presents an algorithm for a polynomial in characteristic \(p\) ensuring to find, without factorization, a separable polynomial with the same irreducible factors (if they exist) and to compute the Jordan decomposition of a matrix in characteristic \(p\). Finally, three examples illustrate the particularities of the computations over finitely generated fields.
