The author considers the numerical solution of Maxwell's equations for a uniform medium. He uses fractional-step methods and indicates how the time dependent three-dimensional Maxwell equations may be uncoupled into six independent scalar equations. He discusses the accurary of time integration, and gives diagrams, but no figures or analysis for fields in a particular case of propagation in a rectangular waveguide, and fields in the case of an oscillating electric dipole. The agreement of the results of the numerical calculations with the theoretical values is excellent.
