    Effect of non-homogeneity on elastic-plastic transition in a thin rotating annular disc has been investigated by using Seth's transition theory. The nonhomogeneity is assumed due to the variation of modulus of rigidity. Expressions for stresses and angular velocity required for initial yielding and fully plastic state have been obtained.
