Non-standard analysis is used to modelize some phenomenons of orbit concentration in continuous flows, looking like a stream with tributaries; the objects we introduce, which we call abstract rivers, are studied from a topological point of view, emphasizing the property of \(S\)-monotonicity of an orbit along its shadow, for which we give some general theorems.
