Extending results of \textit{S. Vassallo} and \textit{J. M. Wills} [ibid. 35, No. 1, 67-71 (1994; Zbl 0806.52019)] the author constructs packings of balls in \(\mathbb{E}^ 3\) of two radii, 1 and \(r<1\), with density higher than the sphere lattice packing density \(\delta^ 3= \pi/ \sqrt {18}\) for every \(r\) in the interval \((0\cdot 482 \ldots, 0\cdot 577 \ldots)\).
