Jet invariants of nonholonomic distributions (Q1892805)

Given a nonholonomic regular analytic distribution on a manifold, the author introduces a natural filtration in the Lie algebra of jets of vector fields at a point. This fact permits him to determine the invariants of the distribution with respect to the action of the group of jets of diffeomorphisms. These invariants are nilpotent \((n + k)\)-step Lie algebras, where \(k\) is the degree of nonholonomy of the manifold.
