This is a review article devoted to the elasto-plastic behavior of metallic polycrystals at finite deformations. The work discusses numerous articles concerning the theory of dislocations and crystal plasticity, studies on the polycrystalline plasticity, the phenomenological theory of continuum mechanics. Some new results concerning BBC metals (sheet steel) are also included in the paper.
