Global foliated vector fields on a compact connected manifold \(M\) equipped with a singular Riemannian foliation \(\mathcal F\) generate a distribution. This distribution is shown to be tangent to the strata defined by the closures of the leaves of \(\mathcal F\) and, in each stratum, transverse to these closures.
