The zero curvature representation of a system of differential equations proved to be efficient in the construction of solutions via the method of inverse scattering problem, in studies of Bäcklund transformations and in the formulation of conservation laws. In the present article we give a zero curvature representation of a system of differential equations whose solutions make it possible to construct solutions to a nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation.
