In the first chapter of the book one can find a presentation of the contents of the following chapters. So, chapters 2 -- 4 deal with problems of subjective assessment of examinee responses by expert raters; the next chapter presents an approach to summarizing a large number of quantities by estimating their distributions. The sixth chapter deals with the problem of equivalence of tests. Chapter 7 discusses methods for estimating the population mean and its standard error. The next chapter deals with small-area estimation. In chapter 9, one can find the case of a single cut-point separating two categories of examinees. At last, chapter 10 treats the problem of missing data in longitudinal surveys. Each chapter contains either applications or examples. A list of references includes more than 80 items and is up to date.
