The well-posedness of mixed stability problems for rotational discontinuity in magnetohydrodynamics with anisotropic pressure is considered. The mathematical statement of stability problems for such a discontinuity is given, and the ill-posedness of underdetermined mixed problems for Friedrichs symmetric \(t\)-hyperbolic systems is proved. Instability of rotational discontinuity in magnetohydrodynamics with anisotropic pressure is also derived.
