A singular general model for continuous 2-D systems consisting of second order partial differential equations with admissible boundary conditions is defined. A procedure for reducing the model to an equivalent regular model is described. A transition matrix is derived by using the 2-D Laplace transformation. A formula for determining a solution to the regular model is presented. The method is illustrated by a numerical example.
