The authors establish the existence of positive solutions to the singular boundary value problem \(y''+ f(t, y)= 0\), \(0< t< 1\), \(y(0)= y'(1)= 0\), where the continuous function \(f: (0, 1)\times (0, \infty)\to (0, \infty)\) is decreasing in \(y\) and has singularities (particularly, \(\lim_{y\to 0+} f= \infty\)).
