Stability of cylindrical ribbed shells affected by compound loading (Q1899501)

A technique for the numerical calculation of the inhomogeneous subcritical state and for determining the parameters of the critical loads from the displacement equations is proposed for the title problem. The net-point method is used. We consider cylindrical ribbed shells supported at discrete points by stringers or transverse frames, or by stringers and transverse frames simultaneously. Equations of the subcritical state and stability equations are proposed and an algorithm for finding their solutions is briefly described. Conditions for the application of different failure criteria in combination with scale effects are presented as well.
