The authors deal with hydroelastic problems for bodies with initial stresses in order to analyze the propagation of small perturbations in a compressible layer interacting with an ideal fluid. After some general considerations, the plane problem is considered, assuming that the external forces acting on the elastic and liquid media are distributed uniformly along one of the axes. Numerical results useful in seismology, underwater acoustics and other related fields are plotted into diagrams.
