After linearization for small load steps and introducing a complex function to couple transverse displacements and stress functions, a single equation remains to describe equilibrium and compatibility conditions. This equation is solved by subdividing the shell and hole regions and assuming the function values to be constant within each interval and equal to the value at the midpoint. Convergence behaviour is not studied.
