For large scale time-dependent problems involving localized and transient phenomena, it is interesting to use different domain decompositions at different time levels in order to let each critical feature be entirely contained in a single subdomain at a given instant. One proposes a numerical method for parabolic problems, which is based on an implicit finite element method in the subdomains and the calculation of the flux on the inter-domain boundaries. Numerical results are displayed.
