The effect of thin film of synovial Newtonian fluid contained between slider bearings formed by two nearly parallel plates at very short distance between them is studied. It is remarkably that there are no large scale velocity fluctuations along any normal cross-section of the lower plate. The critical Reynolds number for the problem under consideration is found to be 600, beyond which the load is found to increase abnormally. This brings to light one of the important results on the rupture of joints.
