The authors present a mathematical model for a fast simulation of the unsteady gas flow in the single-cylinder benchmark engine. The numerical solution describing the pipe flow is based on a TVD scheme, whereas the DAE system is solved by a predictor-corrector method. Numerical result is confirmed by practice.
