The authors describe a mesh generation method for finite element meshes based on adaptive refinement. The finite element meshes created are tetrahedral meshes, and the refinement procedures are based primarily on geometric criteria: refining tetrahedra with poor aspect ratios, refining tetrahedra in intersection regions (considering multi-body geometries), and refining tetrahedra in surface regions with slope discontinuities. The algorithm can be implemented in a straightforward manner, and the shown examples are quite pleasing.
