The author investigates the limit passage in variational problems of plasticity theory for small hardening elastoplastic media. The contents of this article is closely related to the book [\textit{P. D. Panagiotopoulos}, Inequality problems in mechanics and applications, Birkhäuser (1985; Zbl 0579.73014)] in which the governing equation is considered when the hardening parameter tends to zero.
