A time-dependent removal model for air pollutants from an elevated source is presented. The model considers the first-order (delayed) removal. The deposition of pollutants is accounted for by applying the absorptive boundary on the ground surface. The transport equation representing instantaneous and delayed removal is solved numerically by the fractional step method. A Lagrangian (moving cell) frame is used to solve the advection step, while a Eulerian (multibox) frame is applied to the diffusion and removal processes.
