The author deals with the problem of determining the derivatives at the points of support of the interpolating curves on surfaces. The classic numerical differentiation is not entirely correct for this purpose and in some cases is quite unsuitable, for example, in geometric profiling. The author proposes some unconventional numerical differentiation formulae for pointwise specified functions of one or several variables. Some advantages of this technique in interpolation problems are demonstrated.
